Housing & Environment Working Group
Chair: Patricia Dijak

CAOB is excited to announce the formation of a volunteer-driven Housing & Environment Working Group to provide direct input into Oak Bay’s new Official Community Plan (OCP), which must be updated by December 2025 under BC’s new housing legislation. The OCP is more important than ever before because it is the primary tool we have to set community objectives and guiding principles for all new housing, building and green-related developments in Oak Bay, now that the opportunity for public input on individual development proposals has been reduced by provincial legislation.
We invite interested CAOB members to join this Working Group. Among its activities will be looking, from the community perspective, at the combined need for more affordable and more diverse housing options, and climate resilience through sustainable land use, nature-based infrastructure, and biodiversity supports. We are looking to bring together a diverse group of community members with a variety of experiences and perspectives. Email us to express your interest in joining or for more information.
