Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 7pm to 8:30 pm

Start and end in the lobby of the Monterey Centre,
1442 Monterey Ave (south of Oak Bay Ave)

It’s a bright New Year (even at night). To Walk more is on most everyone’s list of activities. Evening walking is still on our list, and we hope your list, too.

The 1st full moon of 2015 means it’s time for the monthly Embrace the Night walk in beautiful and safe Oak Bay. The moon will again be high in the sky at 7 pm and, hopefully, visible on a clear night to help light our way. We will start our walk from the lobby of the Monterey Recreation Centre, down quiet Oak Bay Streets to Beach Drive and back, while mingling and meeting new friends.

Starting Time and Location: 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Monterey Recreation Centre at 1442 Monterey Ave, just south of Oak Bay Avenue

The Route: Beginning and ending at the Monterey Centre, we will walk along quiet residential streets down to Beach Drive to catch the moon over the Salish Sea at the Oak Bay Marina.

The Purpose: To start the New Year off right and walk at night

Finishing Location: A leisurely recovery back in the Monterey Centre lobby just after 8 pm

Note: Personal reflectors will be handed out. Please wear bright clothing and comfortable footwear. Bring a flashlight. Hope for the best of evenings and prepare for worse, weather wise.
We know you’ll have fun…..
