7pm-8:30 pm
Starting and ending in the lobby of the Oak Bay Recreation Centre
1975 Bee Street (east of Foul Bay Road) visit for details

Saturday, December 6 is National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

It is also the night of the December full moon and that means time for the monthly Embrace the Night night walk in the beautiful and safe community of Oak Bay. The moon will be high in the sky at 7 pm and hopefully visible on a clear night to help light our way as we start our walk from the lobby of the Oak Bay Recreation Centre down to Willows Beach and back. Let us observe this special day (night) of remembrance as we also enjoy mingling and meeting new people and take a break from our evening chores, domestic challenges and sedentary habits.

Starting Time and Location: 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Oak Bay Recreation Centre (OBRC),1975 Bee Street just east of Foul Bay Road between Cadboro Bay Road and Goldsmith Ave.

The Route: Beginning and ending at OBRC, we will walk along the Bowker Creek linear walkway and down to Beach Drive and Willows Beach to catch the moon over the ocean. If there is a large turnout and diversity of walking speeds, we may have at least two main walking groups all meeting up along the Esplanade where we will regroup for the walk back to the OBRC.

The Purpose: is to get the heart beating faster, the lungs filling with clean Oak Bay air and the blood coursing through our veins.

Finishing Location: A leisurely recovery upstairs in the OBRC lounge just after 8 pm.

Note: Please wear comfortable footwear, bring a flashlight, wear bright clothing. Prepare for the worse and hope for the best of evenings weather wise. We know you’ll have fun…..
