While I appreciate and understand what Councillor Jensen was trying to do, the examples cited were based on a region where the population density is 10x greater than our region. This in effect creates a larger tax base to draw upon,a smaller more dense area also means access to shopping, etc is easier compared to our area. Further The area he discussed has less government compared to our balkanised region. He's right, we could learn a thing or 2 from them, ;lets start by reducing the 14 municipalities and an unelected CRD to 3. Impose term limits on elected officials so we can get away from the nanny state that we have become.
