Creating the Future in Oak Bay

Organized by: The Community Association of Oak Bay
Date: Saturday – November 7th, 2009
Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Location: Windsor Pavilion – Sports Rooms (Upstairs)

Come and hear Councillor Pam Copley talk about active transportation and the challenges facing the Municipality of Oak Bay, and the Victoria region.

Sue Hallett, Senior Planner CRD, will explore the design process and time lines for the 2010 Regional Walking and Cycling Master Plan.

Corey Burger, Project Manager, will explain the Oak Bay Master Cycling Plan, and invite your comments on cycling routes.

Michelle Kirby, CAOB Director, and Chris Harvey, of School District 61, will provide ideas and lead a discussion on creating safe routes and active transportation solutions at Willows and Monterey Schools.

Construction of the $52.4 million Oak Bay High School looms as the largest public project in our history, and we can contribute to the overall transportation plans with ideas for new walking trails and pathways, improvements for cycling to the school, and visioning for active transportation to better connect our community.

You are invited to participate in break-out sessions, and provide imaginative ideas for Oak Bay’s future.

RSVP by email to Malene Foyd at mfoyd@shaw.ca to reserve a seat. Space is limited – so please reply as soon as possible!
